Position: Accounting Lecturer (1) Position

Working station: Garowe, Puntland

Organization: Puntland Institute of Management and Technology (PIMAT)

Travel: None

Report with: Dean of the faculty

Duration: One semester equivalent to 4 months (possible extension)

Working Days: Three days selected from Saturday to Thursday

Working Hours: Two hours per day from 8:00Am to 11:45Am

Salary: Based on PIMAT salary scale

PIMAT Institute offers tailormade training and development programs for youth specialize in scheming and realizing tailormade courses, vocational training and diploma programs. This institute was founded in 2019.
The PIMAT has opportunities for those have been suffering for want of job skills of management, entrepreneurship and technology in the region. One of PIMAT’s primary mandates is aiming to establish tailor-made training and upgrading of youths who are current unskilled in region and they will gain important knowledge, skills and personal experience through this training institute.

PIMAT seeks qualified ICT Instructor who will be responsible for
the provision of ICT courses to students in the newly established Diploma of study for Management and technology

Position (responsibilities)

Generally the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of ICT lessons and course to the students in the newly established Diploma of study for Management and technology, this diploma course aims to provide student practical Information and Communication Technology skills and knowledge driven by local demands. The other roles and responsibilities of this position include;

  • Prepare and delivery lectures to secondary graduate students on topics such as ICT courses.
  • Organize the class room and learning resources to create a positive learning environment.
  • able to use creative methods of higher education teaching
  • Prepare course materials such as; modules, assignments, hand outs and mini researches.
  • Conduct and implement class participation, attendance records, and other required records
  • Prepare and evaluate exams includes, final exams, midterms and CATs.
  • Maintain positive degree both inside and outside of the class room.
  • Active participation of college lecturers and staff meetings.
  • have good experience to use and maintain learning materials

Qualification and experience

  • Master degree of computer science, ICT engineering or other relevant fields
  •  Minimum 6 years of experience of recognized higher education institute
  • fluent both writing and speaking English and native Somali language
  • teaching and learning experiences in the higher education
  • Must have knowledge of class management and communication skills.
